Gutter cleaning in Dallas

A clogged gutter does its damage quietly: water spills behind it and rots the fascia, lands at the slab, and sits in the valley above. Twice a year is usually enough to prevent all of it.

Quick answer

Gutter cleaning in Dallas means clearing leaves, seed pods, husks and shingle granules from every gutter run by hand, flushing each downspout until it runs clear, checking the pitch and the fascia behind the gutter, and bagging the debris rather than dumping it in the beds. Most homes need it in late spring and again after the fall leaf drop.

The job

Why gutters clog faster here than people expect

Dallas yards are full of live oaks, pecans and cedar elms, and each drops something different at a different time: catkins and seed pods in spring, husks in late summer, leaves through the fall. On top of that, every hail storm washes a layer of shingle granules into the gutters, which settles like sand and holds water.

A full gutter overflows at the front, but the more expensive problem is the water that runs behind it, down the fascia and into the soffit and wall. That is what a regular cleaning prevents.

Leaf and seed pod clearing

Every run is cleared by hand from a ladder or the roof edge, not blown out, because blowers push debris into the downspouts and onto the roof. We scoop the gutter down to the metal, including the packed layer of granules and silt at the bottom that holds water. Debris goes into bags and leaves with us. If there are guards, we lift or clean them too, since mesh guards collect fine debris on top that needs brushing off. The roof valleys above get cleared too.

Downspout flushing

A gutter that is clean on top and still overflows usually has a blocked downspout. We run water through every outlet until it flows freely at the bottom, clearing the elbows where debris lodges, and reconnect any extensions or drain tie-ins that have come apart. Where a downspout drains into an underground line that stays blocked, we tell you so, since that line needs a plumber's camera rather than a ladder. Splash blocks that have sunk or shifted are reset so water lands away from the foundation, not against it.

Clog and overflow checks

While the gutters are empty, we watch how water moves. A run that holds standing water after flushing has lost its pitch, usually because a hanger pulled out of soft fascia. A corner that overflows in every storm may need a second downspout. We note each problem with a photo and fix the small ones on the spot, like a loose hanger, rather than leaving you a list of things we could have done while we were already up there.

Gutter and fascia inspection

The fascia board behind the gutter is where most gutter damage ends up. We check it for soft spots, peeling paint and staining, look at the soffit below for water marks, and check the roof edge and drip edge above. Hail-dented gutters get photographed, since they can matter to an insurance claim. You get the photos and a short note, and anything that needs repair is quoted separately. Nothing is replaced without your approval, and small repairs come with before and after photos.

Roofing in Dallas

What we see on Dallas roofs

North Texas storms tend to arrive in clusters in spring; by mid-May 2026 the Dallas area had already taken three hail-producing storms in about a month. Each one sends leaves, twigs and a fresh layer of shingle granules into the gutters, and a gutter that was half full after the first storm overflows in the second. That is why we suggest the first cleaning of the year before the spring storm season starts, not after it, and a second after the fall leaf drop.

Budget

What decides the cost of gutter cleaning

Gutter cleaning is priced by the job; there is no published Dallas range we use. These factors set it.

  • Linear feet

Total run length around the house.

  • Stories

Two-story runs need taller ladders and more time.

  • Debris load

    Heavily treed lots take longer.

  • Guards

Guards have to be lifted or brushed.

  • Downspouts

    Each one flushed and checked.

  • Small fixes

Loose hangers refastened during the visit.

  • Frequency

Twice-a-year customers pay less per visit.

Warning signs

Signs your gutters need cleaning now

  • Water spilling over the front

The gutter is full or the outlet is blocked.

  • Plants growing in the gutter

Soil has built up for months.

  • Stains on the fascia

    Water running behind the gutter.

  • Sagging runs

Weight of wet debris pulling hangers out.

  • Water pooling at the slab

    Downspouts blocked or disconnected.

  • Granules piled at outlets

Grit from the roof after storms.

  • Wasps or birds nesting

    Debris gives them cover.
