Quick answer
Roof repair, storm restoration, replacements and commercial roofing across Dallas and Ellis County are the work, run from a service office on Mockingbird Lane in Dallas and a head office in Ennis. Calls are answered around the clock, and the construction side, meaning decking, framing and fascia, is handled by the same company.
The work
Roofing, with the construction side handled too
Most of what we do is roofing: leaks and storm repairs, full replacements in every common material, and flat and metal roofs on commercial buildings. Because the company also does general construction, the parts under the roof, such as soft decking, a cracked rafter, rotten fascia or a wall that needs new flashing, are repaired by the same company instead of being roofed over.
The full list is on the services page, grouped by what the roof is doing rather than by trade jargon.

How a job runs
From the first call to the last nail swept
The call
A person answers, any hour. We ask what you see, where water shows, the roof's age and material, and whether a storm just passed.
The roof walk
A roofer walks every slope and checks the attic, photographing anything that matters.
The written scope
Repair, slope or full replacement, with materials named, a per-sheet decking price and a sourced planning range.
Paperwork
Permit pulled where Dallas requires it; storm damage documented if you are filing a claim.
The work
Landscaping and the AC unit protected, old roof off to the deck, soft sheets replaced, new roof on. Most homes take one or two days.
Cleanup
Magnet sweep for nails, gutters cleared, debris hauled.
Walk-through
We walk the finished roof with you and close the city inspection.

Our guides
Who writes the roofing guides
Our homeowner guides are written by Cyril Cross, our roofing guides editor, from published sources such as City of Dallas permit guidance, National Weather Service storm reports and 2026 market cost surveys, and from the jobs our crews see each week. Cost figures are always labeled as planning ranges, never quotes.

Busy weeks
How calls are handled when we are fully booked
Penfold Construction answers its roofing calls directly and sends its crews out on them. During the busiest storm weeks, after hours, or when our schedule is full, a call may be forwarded to another trusted local roofing provider so you are not left without help. When that happens, pricing and availability can differ, and you should confirm that provider's insurance and credentials before any work begins. The terms page explains how forwarded calls work.
