Roof repair and storm restoration in Garland
Garland knows what wind can do to a roof. In December 2015 an EF4 tornado crossed the city, and the storms here still bring wind damage as often as hail.

Quick answer
Penfold Construction repairs and replaces roofs across Garland from its Dallas service office, including the neighborhoods near Lake Ray Hubbard. Storm work here means checking for wind damage as well as hail: lifted and creased shingles, torn ridge caps and loose edge metal, documented slope by slope for the insurance claim.

The storm Garland remembers
On the night of December 26, 2015, a violent EF4 tornado with estimated winds up to 180 mph tracked from Sunnyvale through Garland and Rowlett, killing ten people. In Garland alone about 600 structures, most of them single-family homes, were damaged, many losing roofs and exterior walls.
Most storms are far smaller than that, but the lesson for a roof is the same: wind gets under edges and laps first. Our wind damage repairs start with the roof edges, ridge and any shingle that has lost its seal, because those are what the next storm takes.

Storm record
Hail keeps coming too
Garland is the third-largest city in Dallas County, with about 250,000 residents, and it sits under the same spring storm tracks as the rest of the east side. On April 27, 2026, a storm spotter reported one-inch hail in Garland as supercells crossed the Metroplex. After a storm like that, we inspect each slope and photograph gutters and vents, which show hail better than shingles do.
