Quick answer
Penfold Construction repairs and replaces roofs across Carrollton, on the Dallas, Denton and Collin County sides, from its Dallas service office. Hail is the main reason we are called here; in May 2026, 1.5-inch hail was reported near Trinity Mills Road and Scott Mill Road. We inspect every slope and check skylights, which hail breaks before shingles show damage.
Carrollton
The night the west side took baseball hail
In one overnight storm, baseball-size hail left a trail of damage from Carrollton through Coppell to Arlington. Police confirmed significant property damage along Hebron Parkway and State Highway 121, an apartment complex on Old Denton Road was among the places hit, and windows and skylights were shattered. The Insurance Council of Texas estimated about 20,000 structures damaged and $425 million in insured losses.
Skylights are often the first thing hail breaks, and a cracked dome leaks long before a bruised shingle does. Our skylight replacements are part of every storm scope where they are needed.
Storm record
Hail in 2026
Storm records show six hail reports within ten miles of Carrollton in the first half of 2026. The most recent, in late May, was 1.5-inch hail near the intersection of Trinity Mills Road and Scott Mill Road. After storms like that we inspect each slope and photograph the damage for the adjuster.
